In the past I’ve cancelled many appointments with my trainer at the last minute because I just didn’t have the strength or energy. I eventually realized that the way forward was without alcohol and with my trainer, my physio, my coach by my side. I put myself first.

My Story
Born and bred in Brisbane, Australia. Happily married. Always had interesting jobs and good friends but here I was in this seemingly never-ending habit of self‑destruction. How had I let it get this bad?
In September 2014 I found myself at a crossroads, well and truly ready for change after multiple “rock bottoms”. What happened then? Did I change overnight? Did I learn moderation?
I began a journey of discovery, learning new skills and new behaviours. It was a bit like learning to walk again, I had to learn a whole new skill set to manage life, define my self-worth without labels, blame or guilt.
Busy living life like it was always meant to be lived, I didn’t include alcohol in my decision-making. I looked for the things that had fallen off my radar that brought me joy; I began living a life of gratitude. For the first time, I put my mental and physical health first. I turned my life around using the This Naked Mind methodology combined with practicing mindfulness, exercise and a restored healthy lifestyle.
Happily a non-drinker since September 2014, I realised my life’s purpose was to give back and the best way to do that was to become a life coach. Excited about habit change, I obtained certifications through Bee Sober, the This Naked Mind Institute and with Jolene Park’s Gray Area Drinking coach program.
