Managing alcohol takes up a lot of mental space. I’ve been there.

Deep down, you are sick and tired of how alcohol is making you feel mentally and physically, constantly living down in the rabbit hole.

Instead, you want to be living a life with more joy and happiness, looking upwards, head held high.

I’ve been where you are.

I’ve also been standing in the gym wondering how I was going to get through yet another workout with a hangover. In the past I’ve cancelled many appointments with my trainer at the last minute because I just didn’t have the strength or energy. I eventually realized that the way forward was without alcohol - it was taking too much from my life and not adding a thing.

I wanted something different, better, more whole, with less anxiety.

I decided to get curious and begin a journey of discovery, to find me again.

"I started one on one coaching with Lisa after going a few weeks without having a drink to having a binge weekend. I reached out to her at the end of one of those weekends. I was so mad at myself and I just couldn't understand why I had decided to have that "one drink" yet again. I think the thing I remember most about that day was how she took control. She said "ok, I know you can do this but you keep slipping. Let's figure this out." She came up with a 30 day plan. Her hard and fast rule is that you are honest with her. She can help you achieve your goal, but not if you are hiding things from her. Lisa coaches with the perfect amount of grace and tough love. She seems to know when you need a pat on the back or when you need a little push to move forward. Something wonderful happened to me in those 30 days with Lisa. My biggest takeaway from one on one coaching was the accountability and access to a coach everyday…We had weekly Zoom calls to discuss what had taken place the last week and make plans for me for the upcoming week. We not only discussed alcohol, we discussed nutrition, exercise, supplements, books that she thought would be helpful, basically everything that would help me to get to a place where alcohol no longer took priority in my life. Lisa took a holistic approach and looked at the whole picture. She was concerned with every facet of my life, not just getting me to a place where I didn't feel the need to drink anymore. My Story

Born and bred in Brisbane, Australia. Happily married. Always had interesting jobs and good friends but here I was in this seemingly never-ending habit of self‑destruction. How had I let it get this bad?

In September 2014 I found myself at a crossroads, well and truly ready for change after multiple “rock bottoms”. What happened then? Did I change overnight? Did I learn moderation?

I began a journey of discovery, learning new skills and new behaviours. It was a bit like learning to walk again, I had to learn a whole new skill set to manage life, define my self-worth without labels, blame or guilt.

Busy living life like it was always meant to be lived, I didn’t include alcohol in my decision-making. I looked for the things that had fallen off my radar that brought me joy; I began living a life of gratitude. For the first time, I put my mental and physical health first. I turned my life around using the This Naked Mind methodology combined with practicing mindfulness, exercise and a restored healthy lifestyle.

Happily a non-drinker since September 2014, I realised my life’s purpose was to give back, to share my journey. I have found that the best way to do that was two-fold. I became a certified coach, which has been the most rewarding experience of my life.
